Happy Toothache Day!
Ouch! Can you believe there’s actually a day to celebrate toothaches? No thank you. But at least there are some other great Holidays this week.

Saturday, February 14th – Valentines’ Day
That’s more like it. A day for romance. Valentines Day celebrates the life of Saint Valentine who was beheaded by Roman Emperor Claudius II in 269 AD. Apparently Claudius was upset because men weren’t signing up to go off to war. He decided the reason was because they were too attached to their wives and outlawed marriage. Valentine, a Christian bishop, decided to protect the sanctity of marriage and continued to marry Christian couples. Claudius had Valentine arrested, and when Valentine tried share the Gospel with him, Claudius had Valentine beheaded. But Valentine did encourage romance and marriage between a man and a woman, so let’s celebrate by having a nice romantic evening with our spouses.

- Feb. 15 – National Flag Day for Canada, also National Gumdrop Day (yum)
