Holidays This Week:

The Jewish Feast of Lots (Purim) is this week on February 5th and 6th. It is a time the Jewish people celebrate God’s deliverance of the Jewish people by Queen Esther. There is a day of fasting to remember the fast Esther called on Wednesday, March 4th called Ta’anith Esther. As Christians, we can also use this time to celebrate God’s deliverance to us through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Other Holidays This Week:

  • March 2 – Old Stuff Day (Today, you can keep your old stuff.)
  • March 3 – I Want You to Be Happy Day
  • March 4 – Holy Experiment Day (This is the day you challenge yourself spiritually by taking a step of faith with God and see what happens.)
  • March 5 – Full Moon
  • March 6 – National Frozen Foods Day

This week, in honor of Purim, Word Sharpeners is celebrating our deliverance through Jesus Christ.

Quote of the Week:  I am not going to Heaven because I have preached to great crowds or read the Bible many times. I’m going to Heaven just like the thief on the cross who said in that last moment: ‘Lord, remember me.’ —  Billy Graham

Verse of the Week: 1 Corinthians 1:18 (NIV)  For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Song of the Week: Break Every Chain by Kim Walker

Hymn of the Week: There is Power in the Blood by Lewis E. Jones (1899)

Life Challenge: Celebrate Christ saving you from your sin by shedding His blood on the cross. Remember through His sacrifice, every chain of bondage is broken. Live in victory and freedom.
