Bless the Lord, of my soul, and forget not all his benefits. –Psalms
November is important to me the longer I live. Why? Because I realize more each day how
important it is to be thankful for the blessings I
have. Here are a few reasons I enjoy cold and dreary 🙂 November these days:
- God is good. Yes, even in the hard times and I can’t see his face. When my traitorous heart beats with unbelief and questions, I know deep inside it that God has allowed, or has a purpose, for the hardship or trial. As our youngest grandson and hubby and I proclaim when traveling through a tunnel: “There’s light at the end!” So true!
- I have all the provisions I need. A warm, unique, and nice country home. Plenty of food, family and friends, water to drink and bathe in, and property room to walk, garden, hunt, play, have pets and animals if we want. We also have items that we enjoy often: hot tub, fireplace, flower gardens, pets, etc. God IS good!
- Special blessings: like–
When I thought I would never have the blessing of being a grandmother, and now having THREE grandsons–my heart bubbles over with praise for this privilege.
A wonderful, faithful, loving husband who cares for and about me. Who still leaves little notes for me. Who buys flowers for me and picks wild ones for me. A husband who is my best friend. Who’s brave and smart and loyal and true to his beliefs. A real-life hero.
A multitude of friends I count as special. God has given me and allowed me to meet so many wonderful people throughout the world. How blest I am to have so many friendships.
Memories t
hat are many. Experiences we’ve enjoyed and some not so pleasant at the time, but that now can give us a chuckle. God’s given us a wonderful, adventurous life, and I praise him for that.
November, dreary and gray? Yes, in some aspects. But a beautiful time to lighten the gray, to bring sunshine to the dreariness, in remembering and enjoying the blessings we have.
What are your special blessings you can remember this November?
