I am a big fan of Steven James novels, especially his last series of novels, The Patrick Bowers Files. I was so caught up with his Patrick Bowers novels, I was worried I wouldn’t like Jevin Banks, the hero of this series, as much. I thought he might be either a carbon copy of Bowers or not near as interesting. I was wrong. Jevin Banks, a former magician and documentary filmmaker, uses his skills for illusion, escapism, and misdirection to fight the bad guys. He’s different than Bowers but every bit as interesting as he tries to find out what’s behind a secret government project. One Warning. If you start to read this novel, don’t expect to get any sleep until you finish it. And expect to sleep with the light on. Brilliant suspense and storytelling at it’s best.
