I loved the first novel of this series, The Dance, so I was looking forward to reading The Promise. I love the storyline. Tom is out of work and has lied to his parents and wife about it for five months. As his finances and lies unravel, he wants to come clean. But he’s afraid of the ramifications. This is a great story about redemption and restoration of relationships. The only thing I didn’t like about The Promise is that, at times, the authors pushed the points they wanted to make, and it came across as preachy. That being said, the story was so good, I could easily overlook the preachiness.
