Here are my top 10 favorite romance novels of all time.
10. Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare
All right. Technically it’s a play. But it’s still one of the greatest love stories of all times. The only reason it’s not higher on my list is because I have a problem with people killing themselves over lost love.
9. A Plain Man by Mary Ellis
If you want a sweet romance set in an Amish community, this is one of the best.
8. Christy by Catherine Marshall
Christy has given her life to the mission field in Appalacia at the turn of the century. Two men vie for her affections.
7. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin
No romance list would be complete without a Jane Austin novel. This one about Elizabeth and Darcy is a must read.
6. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
The adventures of Jo and her sisters during the Civil War end with a wonderful romance.
5. The Daughters of Bosten Series by Julie Lessman
There is nothing like passion for God and romance along with redemption thrown in to create a series of great romances. This series is steaming with passion without going too far.
4. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
What could be more romantic than a man taking another man’s place at the gallows so that the woman he loves can have the man she loves?
3. Mark of the Lion Series by Francine Rivers
It doesn’t get much better than this when it comes to historical romance.
2. Love Comes Softly by Janette Oakes
This touching story of a man and women who married for convenience is the founder of the Christian pioneer romance genre.
1. Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers
This is my all time favorite romance novel that retells the Biblical story of Hosea in the Wild West.
These are my choices. Which ones would you add? Please comment.
