Word Sharpener News: My brother-in-law passed away this week, and I’m going to the funeral today. He was saved. Thank God we don’t grieve as those without hope.
Holidays This Week: Today, April 27th, is National Story Day. This day is to encourage you to tell or read a story to a child. I remember sitting on my grandmother’s lap when I was a little girl and listening to her read to me. The last book she read was Black Beauty.
May 1 is May Day. May Day is an ancient traditional holiday where we celebrate Spring with dances, singing, and cake. That makes it a holiday worth celebrating to me. A traditional May Day event is dancing around the May Pole with colorful ribbons. In the late 1800s, May Day was ruined when Communists and Socialists selected it as International Workers Day. I still like to celebrate the start of Spring.
