Holidays This Week:
Today is National Barbie Doll Day because on this day in 1959, the first Barbie doll was introduced.
Wednesday, March 11, is Johnny Appleseed day. John Chapman, also known as Johnny Appleseed, was an American who introduced apple trees to parts of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and West Virginia. As he moved west, he planted seeds as he went. He was also a missionary who shared the Gospel with children and preached to adults wherever he went. Because of his generosity and love for nature, he became a legend. He was born on September 26, 1774 and died March 18, 1845.
Other Holidays This Week:
- March 12 – National Girl Scout Day (This day in 1912 is the day Girl Scouts was founded)
- March 13 – National Ear Muff Day (Celebrates the invention of ear muffs by a 15 year old in 1877)

Quote of the Week: Gradual growth in grace, growth in knowledge, growth in faith, growth in love, growth in holiness, growth in humility, growth in spiritual-mindedness – all this I see clearly taught and urged in Scripture, and clearly exemplified in the lives of many of God’s saints. But sudden, instantaneous leaps from conversion to consecration I fail to see in the Bible. – J. C. Ryle
Verse of the Week: Matthew 16:24-25 (NIV) Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.”
