Word Sharpeners Weekly – September 13, 2015

Web1Word Sharpener News: I had a busy week. I worked on children’s church curriculum I’m writing, and found a videographer for the project. I also heard that a publisher was seriously considering one of my novels with some edits. But by the end of the week, the publisher decided it was too close to another novel being published. In the same week, another publisher asked for a full read of the same novel. Such are the ups and downs of the writing life.

My hubby treated me to a play and dinner at an expensive restaurant Saturday. We went to see The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe at Playhouse Square. It was wonderful. I love that man.

This coming week, I’m looking forward to the announcement of the Frasier Writing Award on Thursday. I’m a finalist, so I’m keeping my fingers, toes, and eyes crossed until then.

Man and DogPicture of the Week:  I took this picture while we were driving down the road. This man had a dog riding on the back of his motorcycle.

Quote of the Week: Success is determined not by whether or not you face obstacles, but by your reaction to them. And if you look at these obstacles as a containing fence, they become your excuse for failure. If you look at them as a hurdle, each one strengthens you for the next. — Ben Carson

Verse of the Week: Ephesians 6:12  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Life Sharpening Tip: If you don’t have enough room in your suitcase, here’s a great video on how to pack to use the least amount of space.
