Now that Summer is around the corner, and the weather is getting warmer, it’s getting hard to set inside in front of a computer screen writing. But warm weather doesn’t have to put a wrench in our writing. Here’s some ideas to help you remain productive and still enjoy Summer.

Take a walk outside before you get started. It’s proven exercise helps our creative juices flow. Get outside in the nice weather and enjoy. It will improve your writing skills.

Take your laptop computer or notebook outside and write. One caution. If you take your computer outside to work, find a shady location. The light will make the computer screen hard to read, and prolonged exposure will ruin it.

Take a notebook to the lake, ocean, mountains, or a scenic spot. Sit and soak in the scenery. As ideas float into your head, write them down.

Write early in the morning. The sun is rising earlier these days. That makes early morning an ideal time to write. Then go outside and enjoy in the afternoon without feeling guilty.

Go to the park or the beach and people watch. Take your notebook with you. You’ll find some great ideas for characters.

If you have some ideas to make Summer a productive writing time, leave a comment.
